I have always had a strong desire to do what I can to make things better in our area. Through my service in the community and my ten years serving as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, I believe that I have proven my ability to work with people and get things done. As a House member, I accomplished a great deal by having the ability to work with everyone -- Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. My desire is to return to Columbia as a full-time Senator and use my legislative knowledge and personal experiences to influence others to help make things better for us all.

I know the system and I know how to get things done in Columbia. I was before and am still willing to work with everyone. Name calling and party politics will be left at the door while respect and compromise will continue to be my method for being an effective Senator.

I have nothing to gain from being a Senator other than the satisfaction of serving my District effectively. I find public service very rewarding. One of my greatest satisfactions as former Representative for the people of South Carolina was helping my constituents navigate the pitfalls and headaches associated with bureaucratic red tape and complex State regulatory procedures.
